It’s been a beautiful day (summer has arrived?!) and despite me suffering with tonsillitis for the umpteenth time this year (no, I shall not have them out, I am a real live, living breathing coward) I still enjoyed the sun and had a tour of 3 garden centres before we finally came away
with this swing seat, and a few tree lanterns. I love it! So here I am, rocking away on my lonesome, cat lay on the sun lounger next to me and the rabbits bouncing around in the grass behind me, clearly up to no good. Today I have been working on a vintage inspired 3 tier wedding cake and might I say it’s coming along grand. The colours are Ivory and Peach and look stunning together, the bottom tier is emblazoned with buttons of varying shapes and sizes, I honestly think it’s beautiful, a darn nightmare to model but beautiful nonetheless, the
second tier is to be plain iced and embellished only with ribbon and the final top tier is to have a delicate lace work upon it. I can’t wait to finish it, it’s so pretty.
Last Thursday I completed a very enchanting and magical castle wedding cake for a friend, she gave me the remit of big and blinging, I gave her nothing short of a ‘big fat gypsy wedding’ number, encrusted with diamonds and pearls and enough glitter to keep any fairy in dust for
generations. It sparkled no end, and for the final touch, I added fairy lights both around the castle itself and around the base, it looked brilliant, everyone at the wedding commented, it was a rather proud moment of mine. I hope to put some pictures of it on here eventually once I’ve seen the photographers shots as my camera just didn’t do it justice. It was certainly a lovely moment to hear first-hand what the wedding guests thought of it, and the bride herself on the big day as rarely I get to be there on the day to see the expressions on people’s faces, that day was indeed a great day… and more importantly, the bride loved it too.
Oh dear. The two bunnies have joined me and Ginger on the patio, this means I am going to have to try to heard them back into their pens… wish me luck, I’m no doubt going to run around for a while looking like a complete pillock to the neighbours as they lead me a merry dance, I’ll be back…..
One down, one…. I need a breather, you’d think, years of rabbit keeping would have me a better hand at this, but no, no, same idiotic routine every evening.
Any how, on that note, I’ll sign off, I really should mow the lawn now the sun is low but I really don’t want to, not right now, my head feels as if it is a pressurised canister being squeezed, not pleasant, so instead I shall swing a little longer, play the waiting game with the bunny and
then make my way to bed and hope for a comfortable sleep. Good night all.
