After preparing loaded potato skins and stuffed peppers to freeze down ready for the day, I decide to make some Shroooooms, lovely lovely coconut mushrooms in red and green marzipan, they are fantastical looking little fancies that always go down a treat with children and
adults alike, however are uber fiddly, I still have yet to stick all the white spots on the caps. They are currently sitting in the fridge, taunting me.
Yesterday I baked 6 cakes to sandwhich all together to inevitably turn into a whimsical topsy turvy number for the BBQ, figured one big cake would eliminate the need for several little cakes (after making all the mushrooms, I'd like a break from fiddly little things). The top layer is a lemon sponge, middle chocolate and bottom, good old fashioned Vanilla, which today I will be icing, along with adding some bbq/garden elements, that is once I have sorted out my
make up, pottering around the house is all well and good when you are on your own, but I am expecting guests again a little later so better not scare them, time to go...
